The [very, very] short version:
I was born and raised in a small town at the Polish border in East Germany. I went to university in Berlin and participated in an exchange program that brought me to Berkeley. I liked it so much that I decided to go back for a Ph.D. program. I applied to Sims, graduated from university, quit my job, packed my bags, said goodbye and here i am. ;-)

So, this is my sister Bianca and I. I am the taller one. Ok, ok, I am a little older now, but this is just my favorite photo...;-))
