February in the East Bay
Today it was 66° and sunny, so we got on our bikes and rode south into Oakland. We picknicked at Lake Merritt while watching the geese fight. In Chinatown teams of kids dressed as dragons went from storefront to storefront, exploding firecrackers in doorways in some sort of lunar new year ritual. The balmy spring weather had everyone in good spirits, and on the way back up Telegraph pedestrians were swapping smiles and puffs on joints.
(Observing a moment of silence for my peeps in Chicago, NYC, and Basel, for whom the warmth of the sun is but a distant memory.)

Ooh. It’s almost like you knew that I didn’t have heat last night.
