Biography
I am a second year graduate student in the School of Information at University of California, Berkeley.
I have done my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Computer Science and have worked
with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) from Sept 2006 to July 2009
before joining Ischool.
Over the last 3 years that I have spent in TCS, I have worked on various
Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) projects for
the client British Petroleum (BP). Through the course of my work, I have
handled different positions like that of an ETL Developer and a Data
Warehouse Analyst.
My stint at TCS has provided me with a keen insight into the working of the corporate world and
the chance to apply the knowledge and skills I had acquired through my years of study. It has
also served to broaden my horizon and open my eyes to new ideas while driving home the point
that in order to truly be able to contribute and make a difference in the professional environment,
I need to go beyond the scope of my Bachelors degree. I need to acquire more specialized
knowledge and skills. Having had the chance to explore my interests and career options, I
believe my true passion lies in a field that combines technology with managerial expertise.
Management of Information Systems is the area I seek to work in and eager to develop my
knowledge and understanding of this sphere.
