Visualization of Multiple Query Results

Typical data: computer journal dgital library.

Typical query: "automatic text summarization".

Typical results: ranked-order list of titles of related articles.

Possibility: draw icons for the query and each document along a line;
distance from query icon to each document icon indicates relevance.
Easy (preattentive) to understand distribution of documents.

Now consider multiple queries.  Show multiple distributions; link the
same document in each result plot with a polyline.

The visualization is independent of the method used to calculate
relevance.  Prototype uses Euclidean distance between vectors
representing document and query.
