Project History

All records are loaded on this site (Search 1), Pathfinder (UC Berkeley web resource), MELVYL, the University of California web catalogue, and RLIN, an international bibliographic resource.

A summer 1998 grant from HUD's Joint Community Development program, administered through UC Berkeley's Institute of Urban and Regional Development brought the collection of early California music of the Paramount Theatre Music Library (Oakland, Calif.), into the project.

A final LSTA grant from the California State Library (FY 2000) has allowed completion of cataloging of the 2000 items. With 1997-1999 grants 1400 items were cataloged in MARC/SGMLformat and made available through "Search 1". All images are now available through RLIN and its web version Eureka.
