design, technology, communication

I am a graduate student at the School of Information at UC Berkeley. My research focuses on how the design of social cues in information technology impact our interactions. I investigate how technology can support and strengthen ties between people using the artifacts they create.

Before arriving at Berkeley, I worked at museums for three years, most recently at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL. In the museum environment, I created work at the interface of design, education, and technology, developing interactive tools for the exploration and presentation of data.

I hold a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago.
