      Dr. Franklin Samuel Stych, author of How to Find Out About Italy, devoted 20 years of his retirement to the creation of this comprehensive annotated bibliography of 2,242 items by Boccaccio, adapted from Boccaccio, or about Boccaccio. His material was edited and prepared for publication by his former student, Michael Buckland, at the School of Information.   See sample entries.
      This work is intended as a working tool for scholars and students of English, Italian and comparative literature rather than for bibliophiles. Printed works only are included, but including critical works on manuscripts.
      There are three sections:    1. Editions of the works of Boccaccio; 2. Adaptations and parallels; and 3. Criticisms and references.
      Approaches to writings (in any language) on the influence of Boccaccio on English literature as well as detailed access to the individual items are provided by seven indexes:
A: Editions of Boccaccio's works;
B: Editors, illustrators, etc of Boccaccio's works;
C: Authors and titles of adaptations of Boccaccio's works;
D: Works of Boccaccio adapted;
E: Works of Boccaccio criticised;
F: Critics of Boccaccio; and G: Subject Index.
      The Introduction provides a brief history of Boccaccio scholarship in the English-speaking world and guidance on additional sources of information.
