The large room at the south end of the second floor has gone from lecture hall to bibiliographic lab and back to lecture hall.  Although the glass window over the entrance still says "Bibliographic Laboratory," the room was remodeled in the 1997 by Stein Architects to be a modern "Flex Lab" with projection equipment and network connections at every seat.  The first photograph is from a signborard that used to be at the building entrance and was restored by Stein Associates.  They also provided the third photograph.

Sepia-tone photograph of original lecture hall.

Bibliographic Laboratory, c. 1968-1996.  This photo was taken after the 1986 seismic upgrade.  My strongest recollection from the early 1980s was the shelf that contained only books written by authors who used pseudonyms.

The Flex Lab was designed and built by Stein Architects in 1997.  Partial funding was provided by the Ford Motor Company Fund.
